The Memphis Motorsports Park is a racetrack on the opposite side of the Loosahatchie River at Memphis in the State of Tennessee , about 10 miles south of Millington . The track was owned by Dover Motorsports , which also owns Dover International Speedway , Gateway International Speedway and Nashville Superspeedway . NASCAR Nationwide Series and Craftsman Truck Series races were held on the oval . The facility also includes a 4,400-foot acceleration track for the National Hot Rod Association's drag racing and other events.

In 1986, construction began on Memphis International Motorsports Park, originally from a distance for drag race , a road course, a non-fixed price and a Kart consisted railway. In 1996 the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach acquired the entire facility and added a 0.75 mile long tri-oval on the site of the former dirt track the following year. This was moved to the area of the kart track. At the same time, the name was changed to Memphis Motorsports Park, whose tri-oval opened on June 5, 1998. With the purchase of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach by Dover Motorsports a short time later, the Motorsports Park also became their property. NASCAR's first race took place on September 13, 1998.

The track was closed on October 30, 2009 and changed hands in January 2011.
