The Nashville Superspeedway is a motor racing complex in Gladeville with an address in Lebanon , both in the US state of Tennessee , approximately 30 miles east of Nashville . The surface of the 1,333 mile (2,145 km) course is made of concrete. Nashville Superspeedway is owned by Dover Motorsports , which also owns Dover International Speedway .

The circuit was built in 2001 and serves as the venue for four major races: two races from the NASCAR Nationwide Series , one from the Indy Racing League and one from the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series . The audience capacity is around 50,000 seats. Portable seats can also be installed for special events, so that a spectator capacity of up to 150,000 seats can be achieved, for example for a NASCAR Sprint Cup race . However, there is little interest on the part of NASCAR in hosting a race there. Dover Motorsports has so far also shown no interest in relocating one of the two successful races in the Sprint Cup from their other speedway, Dover International Speedway . The Nashville Superspeedway is the only circuit that holds two NASCAR Nationwide Series races without a Sprint Cup race.

As is tradition in the Nashville region, the winner will be presented with guitars in a special design by Gibson Les Paul instead of conventional trophies.

The racetrack was given the classic term " Superspeedway " - although this is not a definition - to distinguish it from the former Nashville Speedway USA in Nashville. The track has a very wavy concrete surface for an oval, which is why the lap times for the track layout are comparatively slow. Because of these problems, the track will lose its IndyCar race for 2009, which will be replaced by a city race in Toronto , Canada.

Since the track also lost all NASCAR races in 2012, the track will be closed from 2012 and offered for sale to private customers. On May 29, 2014 it was announced that the investor NeXovation, Inc. would like to purchase this racetrack and associated equipment from Dover Motorsports for US $ 27 million.
