Scott Anderson (born February 18, 1989 in Fort Collins , Colorado ) is an American racing driver . He started in Indy Lights from 2014 to 2016 .

Career

Anderson began his motorsport career in karting and was then active in several smaller US American automobile racing series before entering professional formula racing in 2010 . He competed in the Skip Barber National Championship and finished seventh in the drivers' championship. In 2010 he also took part in a race weekend of the US F2000 National Championship . In the winter of 2010/11, Anderson was runner-up in the Skip Barber Southern Regional Series. He then won the 2011 Skip Barber National Championship. He also finished eighth in the Ontario Formula Ford .

In 2012 Anderson received a cockpit in the US F2000 National Championship at Belardi Auto Racing . In the winter series before the regular season, he reached eighth place. In the regular season he won two races and was third in the drivers' championship. He also made a guest start for JDC Motorsports in the Star Mazda Championship . In 2013 Anderson switched to the racing series renamed Pro Mazda Championship and competed for Juncos Racing . While his teammate Diego Ferreira finished second overall, Anderson finished the season with second place as the best result in fifth overall.

In 2014 , Anderson competed in the Indy Lights . He was given a cockpit at Fan Force United , who returned to the series after a year-long hiatus. With a fourth place as the best result, he finished the season in eighth place in the drivers' standings. In 2015 , Anderson moved to Schmidt Peterson Motorsports within Indy Lights . With a third place as the best result, he reached ninth place overall. In 2016 , Anderson stayed with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in Indy Lights. In the first half of the season it was used in six street course races before losing its cockpit entirely.
