Scott Hargrove

Scott Hargrove (born February 1, 1995 in Vancouver ) is a Canadian racing driver .

Career

Hargrove began his motorsport career in karting in 2008 , where he was active until 2013. In 2011 he made his debut in formula racing when he took part in the Skip Barber Summer Series and finished second. In 2012 Hargrove moved to the US F2000 National Championship at JDC Motorsports . First he finished sixth in the winter series. In the following main series, in which he paused in three races, he managed a podium finish with a third place and he was eleventh overall. In 2013 Hargrove moved to Cape Motorsports w / Wayne Taylor Racing and stayed in the US F2000. First he came second behind his teammate Neil Alberico at the US F2000 Winterfest. In the subsequent US F2000 National Championship, Hargrove won four races and stood on the podium five more times. With 294 to 277 he prevailed in the title fight against Alberico and became champion. He also took part in some Formula Ford individual races.

In 2014, Hargrove stayed with Cape Motorsports w / Wayne Taylor Racing and moved to the Pro Mazda Championship . In the winter series he initially reached second place behind Spencer Pigot . In the main series he got three wins and he finished second behind Pigot with 299 to 309 points. He prevailed internally against his team mate Alberico, who was third with 239 points. Hargrove was also active in GT racing and won the Canadian Porsche GT3 Cup with six wins. In 2015 , Hargrove moved to 8 Star Motorsports for the Indy Lights season opener . He achieved fourth place. However, there was no firm commitment in the championship. In formula racing, he took part in three Pro Mazda races for JDC Motorsports later in the year. Hargrove then entered the Canadian Porsche GT3 Cup for the third race. He won seven of the remaining eight races. In the championship, however, he had no chance against the drivers who contested the entire season and he was third overall. In 2016 , Hargrove took part in the Indy Lights season opener again for Team Pelfrey , who had taken over the Indy Lights team from 8 Star Motorsports. He achieved a podium placement with a second. He contested seven more races for the Pelfrey team before Garett Grist took over the cockpit.
