Changes in the teams

  • Barwa Addax withdrew from the GP2 series. Campos Racing received the starting position for the racing team . Campos was already active in the GP2 series until 2008 and had sold the GP2 team to Barwa Addax in 2009.
  • After the death of Igor Mazepa , the team boss and owner of the Russian Time project , the investor group of the project and Mazepa's heirs terminated the contract with the previous service provider Motopark Academy in mid-February , which carried out the operations in 2013 and won the team competition. As a result, Tom Dillmann , who had a GP2 contract with Motopark Academy, lost his cockpit. As a replacement, iSport International , which had lost their starting place to Russian Time in 2013, returned to the GP2 series and took over the support of the Russian Time project.

Racing calendar

Eleven racing weekends are scheduled for 2014. Compared to the previous season, the races in Sepang and Singapore will not take place, but will be driven in Spielberg and Sochi . All events take place as part of the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends. The race from the Nürburgring changes to the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg as planned .

With one exception in Monaco (main races on Fridays and sprint races on Saturday), all main races take place on Saturdays and all sprint races on Sunday.
