Arthur Pic (born October 5, 1991 in Montélimar ) is a French racing driver . He competed in Formula Renault 3.5 from 2011 to 2013 . He drove in the GP2 series from 2014 to 2016 .

His older brother Charles Pic is also a racing car driver.

Career

Arthur Pic first came into contact with motorsport through his older brother Charles Pic . He began his motorsport career in karting in 2003 and was active in this sport until 2006. In 2007 he made his debut in formula racing and competed in four races in the Belgian Formula Renault 1.6 . In 2008 he moved to the Formul'Academy Euro Series . Pic won six races and won the championship ahead of Côme Ledogar .

In 2009 Pic switched to SG Formula in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and in the Western European Formula Renault. He stayed behind his teammates Jean-Éric Vergne and Miki Monras in both series . In the Western European Formula Renault two third places were his best results and he finished sixth overall. In the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup he never made it onto the podium and finished the season in tenth place. In 2010 he contested his second season in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup for Tech 1 Racing . Pic won four races and was the driver with the second-most wins after the champion Kevin Korjus . At the end of the season he was third in the drivers' championship behind Korjus and Luciano Bacheta . He also took part in two British Formula Renault races.

In 2011 Pic competed in Formula Renault 3.5 for the Tech 1 Racing team, which won the team championship the previous year . While his teammate Korjus won races and was sixth overall, Pic finished the season in 23rd place. A sixth place was his best result. In 2012 , Pic switched to DAMS within the series , which had just entered the Formula Renault 3.5. He won a race in Volokolamsk and finished the season in eighth place. So he prevailed against his team mate Lucas Foresti , who was 23rd. In 2013 Pic contested his third Formula Renault 3.5 season. He received a cockpit at AV Formula , which competed for the first time in the championship. With a third place as the best result, he finished eighth overall, as in the previous season. With 74 to 0 points he prevailed internally against Yann Cunha . At the end of the year, Pic started three events of the MRF Challenge Formula 2000 2013/14. He won two races and was fourth in the drivers' championship.

In 2014 Pic switched to Campos Racing in the GP2 series . At the main race in Mogyoród he achieved his first GP2 victory. With two further podium finishes, he finished the season in seventh place overall. With 124 to 2 points, he clearly prevailed against his teammate Kimiya Satō . In addition, Pic started for Sébastien Loeb Racing in a race of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) in 2014 . In 2015 Pic stayed with Campos Racing in the GP2 series. With two second places as the best results, he finished eleventh in the drivers' standings. Internally he was defeated by Rio Haryanto with 60 to 138 points. In 2016 Pic switched to Rapax within the GP2 series . A third place in Hockenheim was his best result. He left out the last two events due to health problems that were not defined in detail. He finished the season in 14th place overall.
