He started both in the French Formula Renault , in which he finished fourth, and in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup , in which he finished third overall. In 2008 Pic switched to Tech 1 Racing in Formula Renault 3.5 and became a teammate of Julien Jousse . With two wins, u. a. at the prestigious race in Monte Carlo , he finished sixth overall at the end of the season, while Jousse was runner-up. In 2009 Pic stayed with Tech 1 Racing and contested his second season in Formula Renault 3.5. Pic won two races and only failed to score in four races. At the end of the season he finished third overall behind Bertrand Baguette and Fairuz Fauzy . In 2009 Pic was also supported by the Renault F1 Team's Renault Driver Development Program .

In winter Pic started for Arden International in the GP2 Asia Series season 2009/2010 . On the third race weekend in Sakhir , he achieved his first victory in the sprint race. At the end of the season he finished fifth overall. Pic also took part in the main series of GP2 with Arden International in 2010 . In his debut race on the Circuit de Catalunya , he immediately scored his first victory in the GP2 series, something that only Heikki Kovalainen (2005) and Álvaro Parente (2008) had achieved before him . In the further course of the season he scored points in only four other races and finished tenth overall at the end of the season. Against his teammate Rodolfo González he clearly prevailed with 28 to 4 points. In 2011 Pic competed for the Barwa Addax team in the GP2 Asia and GP2 series. In the GP2 Asia series he was 18th overall. As in the previous year, Pic won the main race at the Circuit de Catalunya in the GP2 series . With another victory, which he achieved in the sprint race in Monte Carlo, and a total of five podiums, he ended the season in fourth place in the championship. Within the team, he prevailed against Giedo van der Garde , who was fifth. After the season, Pic took part in Formula 1 test drives for Virgin for the first time .

In 2012 Pic made his Formula 1 debut for Marussia, Virgin's successor team. Instead, Pic became a test driver at Lotus and also took part in a Friday training session in this capacity. In addition, Pic received a cockpit from Andretti Autosport for the Beijing ePrix , the first race in the newly established FIA Formula E Championship . He was fourth.
