Julien Jousse (born January 21, 1986 in Les Issambres , municipality of Roquebrune-sur-Argens ) is a former French racing driver .

Career

After Jousse 1997 to 2001 in karting was active, he moved in 2002 to the single-seater racing and competed in the French Formula Ford . In 2003 Jousse stayed in this racing series and finished ninth in the overall classification. In 2004 Jousse changed the French Formula Renault for three years and finished 14th in the overall standings. In his second season, Jousse won a race and finished sixth overall. In his third season, Jousse improved again and came third overall. He also took part in some races of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup in 2005 and 2006 .

In 2007 Jousse switched to Formula Renault 3.5 and started for Tech 1 Racing . In his debut season, he finished tenth overall. In 2008 the Frenchman contested his second season in the Formula Renault 3.5. Starting again for Tech 1 Racing, Jousse took his first win in this series. At the end of the season he finished second behind Giedo van der Garde . In the 2009 season , Jousse started in the revived Formula 2 . The Frenchman celebrated his first victory at the Sunday race in Donington . At the end of the season he finished fifth overall. He also competed in three races in the Le Mans Series , one of which he won, and finished second in the GT1 class at the 2009 Le Mans 24 Hours . After taking part in four Superleague Formula races in the 2009 season, the Frenchman joined the AS Roma team in 2010 for the DeVillota.com Motorsport team . Jousse, who was replaced by Máximo Cortés in the season finale , won a race in Zolder and was instrumental in ensuring that his team finished eighth in the championship at the end of the season. Jousse also took part this season in the 24-hour race of Le Mans , in which he retired with an engine failure, a race in the Le Mans Series and two races in the FIA GT1 World Championship .

In 2011 , Jousse competed for the Pescarolo Team in the Le Mans Series and ended his driving career at the end of the 2014 season due to a lack of opportunities.
