Máximo Cortés Chavarri (born April 13, 1988 in Móstoles ) is a Spanish racing driver .

Career

Cortés began his motorsport career in karting in 1997 and remained active in this sport until 2004. In 2005 he switched to the single-seater racing and was runner-up of the Spanish Formula Junior. In 2006 he competed for TEC Auto in the Spanish Formula 3 championship . While his teammate Ricardo Risatti won the championship title, the Spaniard was third in the championship with two wins. In 2007 he stayed with TEC Auto in Spanish Formula 3. He won six races and won the championship ahead of his teammate Marco Barba .

In 2008 Cortés switched to Pons Racing in the World Series by Renault . Already after four race weekends he was replaced by Aleix Alcaraz due to financial problems . At the end of the season he finished 26th overall. He then competed as a guest starter on a racing weekend in the Spanish Formula 3 and was the first to cross the finish line in one run. In 2009 , Cortés did not find a cockpit in formula racing and switched to the Hache team in the Le Mans Series . With the unreliable Lucchini LMP2 / 04 , however, he did not make it into the classification in any race and he could not score any points.

In 2010 , Cortés was initially without a cockpit. He took part in a race weekend in September Superleague Formula for by Drivex supervised team of Sporting Lisbon in part. After appearing in the European Le Mans Series in 2011 , he ended his career at the end of 2013.
