Sandy Nicholas Stuvik (born April 11, 1995 in Phuket ) is a Norwegian - Thai racing driver . In 2014 he won the Euroformula Open . He started in the GP3 series in 2015 and 2016 .

Career

Stuvik began his motorsport career in karting in 2000 , in which he remained active until 2008. After a year of preparation, he switched to formula racing in 2010 . For the Asia Racing Team he started in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge. He finished every race on the podium, won four races and won the championship. In 2011 Stuvik moved to KEO Racing in Europe . He took part in the first two events of the Northern European Formula Renault and the first four events of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup . He contested the remaining three racing weekends of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup for Interwetten Racing . In the Eurocup he finished 28th overall. In 2012 Stuvik competed for Interwetten Racing in the Northern European Formula Renault and achieved 14th place in the overall ranking.

In 2013 Stuvik switched to RP Motorsport in the European F3 Open . He won three races and was on the podium a total of ten times. With 247 to 256 points he was defeated by Ed Jones and finished second overall. In 2014 Stuvik planned to switch to the GP2 series , but this did not materialize. Therefore he stayed with RP Motorsport in the racing series, which was now called Euroformula Open. He won 11 of 16 races and won the championship with 332 to 243 points ahead of his teammate Artur Janosz .

In 2015 , Stuvik received a cockpit for the GP3 series at Status Grand Prix . He finished the season in 17th place overall. In 2016 , Stuvik switched to Trident within the GP3 series . With a seventh place as the best result, he was 18th in the drivers' championship.

Personal

Stuvik has Norwegian and Thai citizenship. In motorsport he starts for Thailand.
