Vitor Baptista (born March 20, 1998 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian automobile racing driver . In 2015 he won the Euroformula Open . He started in Formula V8 3.5 in 2016 .

Career

Baptista began his motorsport career in karting , where he remained active until 2014. Baptista was Brazilian junior kart champion in 2011 and 2012. In 2014 he made his debut in formula racing and competed in the Brazilian Formula 3 championship . Starting for Cesário F3 , he was the overall winner in the B classification for older vehicles.

In 2015 Baptista moved to Europe for the Euroformula Open at RP Motorsport . Baptista won six races and only failed to make it into the top five once. With 291 to 286 points he won the championship ahead of Konstantin Tereschtschenko . In 2016 Baptista stayed with RP Motorsport and entered the Formula V8 3.5 with the team . With a fourth place as the best result, he reached twelfth place in the drivers' standings.
