Thomas Randle (racing driver)

Thomas Randle (born April 7, 1996 ) is an Australian racing driver . He won the Toyota Racing Series in 2017 .

Career

Randle began his motorsport career in karting in 2003 , where he remained active until 2012. Among other things, he won the Australian Rotax Junior Championship in 2012. In 2013 Randle made his debut in formula racing . For the Evans Motorsport Group he finished seventh in the Australian Formula Ford and Victoria Formula Ford. In 2014, Randle switched to Dream Motorsport . With 266 to 262 points, he won the Australian Formula Ford ahead of Jordan Lloyd . He also competed in Formula Ford races in Victoria and New South Wales. In addition, Randle drove in touring car racing in individual races of the Kerrick Sports Sedan Series .

In early 2015 , Randle drove in the New Zealand Toyota Racing Series . Starting for ETEC Motorsport , he achieved two podium finishes and finished the season in tenth place. Then Randle drove for Dream Motorsport in the newly founded Australian Formula 4 Championship . He won seven races and finished second behind Lloyd with 387 to 441 points. He also competed in the Kerrick Sports Sedan Series and was third overall. In the 2016 Toyota Racing Series , Randle attended an event for Victory Motor Racing . He then moved to Europe in the British Formula 3 Championship at Douglas Motorsport . He won two races and finished the championship in fourth place. In addition, he contested two Formula V8 3.5 events for Comtec Racing . In this racing series he started with a British racing license.

In 2017 Randle started again for Victory Motor Racing in the Toyota Racing Series. With two wins he decided the championship for himself. With 855 to 850 points, he prevailed against Pedro Piquet .
