Queensland Raceway

The Queensland Raceway is a motorsport racetrack in the Australian state of Queensland . It is located at Ipswich, southwest of Brisbane .

The U-shaped circuit is 3.120 km long, it consists of four right and two left turns as well as a 643 meter long back straight. There are also three shorter route variants. All buildings such as the pit systems and grandstands are located on the outside of the racetrack, the infield is undeveloped. This gives the spectators a clear view of the entire Autodrom. The track width is 12 meters.

Various motorsport events are held on the Queensland Raceway, with the races for the Australian touring car series , the V8 Supercars , being the most important in terms of sport .

On October 15, 2013, the racing driver Sean Edwards had a fatal accident as a passenger during a private test drive.

There are three short circuit variations of length besides the full route:

  • Sportsman - 2.15 km (1.34 mi)
  • Clubman - 2.14 km (1.33 mi)
  • Sprint - 1.93 km (1.20 mi)
