Roy Nissany (born November 30, 1994 in Tel Aviv ) is a French - Israeli racing driver . His father is the automobile racing driver Chanoch Nissany . He will start in the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2020 .

Nissany began his motorsport career in karting in 2001 , where he was active until 2009. In 2009 he also made his debut in the Hungarian Formula racing E-2000 championship . In 2010 he switched completely to formula racing. He was signed by Mücke Motorsport for two years. He took part in the Lista junior formula for the team . With a fourth place as the best result, he finished the season in eighth place.

In 2011 he switched to the ADAC Formula Masters , where he remained loyal to his previous team, Mücke Motorsport. In the opening race in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben he reached the podium with a third place. At the Nürburgring he achieved another third place. He finished the season in eleventh place. In 2012 he stayed in the ADAC Formula Masters. He won a race at the Red Bull Ring . He improved to ninth place overall.

In 2013 Nissany received a cockpit for the European Formula 3 championship at Mücke Motorsport . While his team-mate Felix Rosenqvist was runner-up with 457 points, Nissany achieved 22nd overall with eleven points. In 2014 Nissany stayed with Mücke Motorsport in the European Formula 3 championship. While his teammates Lucas Auer and Rosenqvist won races, Nissany improved to 17th place overall with a sixth place as the best result.

In 2015 Nissany moved to Tech 1 Racing in Formula Renault 3.5 . With a third place as the best result, he finished the season in 13th place in the overall standings. 2016 Formula Renault 3.5 has been in Formula V8 3.5 renamed and Nissany changed to that of Charouz Racing System managed Lotus team. He won both races at Silverstone and one race at Monza . In total, he was on the podium seven times. He improved to fourth place in the drivers' championship. With 189 to 161 points he prevailed internally against René Binder . In 2017 he started for RP Motorsport in what is now known as the World Series Formula V8-3.5. He won a race and was on the podium five times. In the final statement, he finished fifth with 201 points.

In 2018 Nissany will start in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Campos Vexatec Racing . He finished 22nd overall with just one point. In the 2019 season, Nissany did not take part in any racing events, but completed the Formula 2 test for Trident at the end of the season in Abu Dhabi .

In 2020 Nissany signed a contract as the official test driver for the Formula 1 team Williams F1 . He will take part in three free practice sessions this season. In addition, he will again take part in the FIA ​​Formula 2 Championship. He completes the Trident line-up with teammate Marino Sato .

Roy Nissany grew up in Europe until he was three years old. He has French and Israeli citizenship. In motorsport he competes with an Israeli license.
