Autodromo Vallelunga

The Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi , named after the former Formula 1 driver Piero Taruffi , is a motorsport racetrack in Campagnano di Roma . The plant is located around 30 km north of the Italian capital Rome .

In 2007 and 2008 , a run for the Superbike World Championship was held in Vallelunga .

The Vallelunga race track was built in 1951. From 1963 the Gran Premio di Roma was held here, and in 1967 the track was expanded and becomes the property of the Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI), the Italian automobile club.

In August 2004, work began on a further expansion of the line. It was lengthened by around 1 km and thus achieved homologation by the FIA . Since then it has been used as a test track by many Formula 1 teams such as Ferrari , Williams and Toyota .

A driving safety center is also part of the route today .
