The Scandinavian Raceway is a 4.018 km long circuit built in 1968 in Anderstorp ( Gislaved municipality , Sweden ).

The route has a long straight with the flight straight , which was also used as a runway for aircraft, and several banked curves. The circuit moved into the focus of the racing scene in the 1970s, when the Swedish Formula 1 driver Ronnie Peterson was at the height of his career. The Swedish Grand Prix took place six times from 1973 to 1978 on the Scandinavian Raceway . Plans for another Grand Prix in 1979 were discarded after the deaths of Peterson and Gunnar Nilsson in 1978 and the resulting decline in sponsorship interest. The Scandinavian Raceway is to this day the last Scandinavian race track on which Formula 1 races were held.

From 1971 to 1977 and again from 1981 to 1990 the motorcycle world championship with the Swedish Grand Prix for motorcycles took place in Anderstorp. In the early 1990s, there were two World Superbike races. As part of the LG Super Racing Weekend , races of the European Touring Car Championship , Formula Renault V6 and FIA GT Championship were driven. Today the Swedish Touring Car Championship is staging a race on the Scandinavian Raceway, in 2007 the World Touring Car Championship was held .
