The 1974 motorcycle world championship season was the 26th in the history of the FIM - motorcycle road world championship .

Ten races were held in the classes up to 500 cm³, up to 350 cm³, up to 250 cm³, up to 125 cm³ and up to 50 cm³ and eight races for the sidecar .
