The 2015 motorcycle world championship season was the 67th in the history of the FIM - motorcycle road world championship .
18 races were held in all classes.
Distribution of points
The world champion will be the driver or manufacturer who has accumulated the most points in the world championship by the end of the season. When distributing points, the placements are taken into account in the overall result of the respective race. The top fifteen drivers in each race receive points according to the following scheme:

- On February 10, 2015 it was announced that the British Grand Prix would not be held in Donington Park as planned . Silverstone will continue to be driven until 2016.
- At the Grand Prix of Aragon , the 100th race was in the Moto2 down.
Teams
- After a two-year break, Suzuki is returning to Grand Prix sport as a works team with the GSX-RR .
- Aprilia is also back as a factory team. Your mission motorcycle is the RS-GP .
- Since Forward-Racing team owner Giovanni Cuzari was arrested, Marco Curioni (managing director of the team) canceled participation in the Indianapolis Grand Prix . This affects both the MotoGP and the Moto2 team.

- Because of forearm cramps (arm pump) Dani Pedrosa could not contest the races in Texas, Argentina and Spain. He was replaced in these races by Honda test driver Hiroshi Aoyama.
- The Italian Claudio Corti replaced Stefan Bradl in the race in Germany. This had broken the scaphoid bone .
- After continued disappointing results, Marco Melandri will not contest any further races for Aprilia. He was replaced by Michael Laverty at the German Grand Prix .
- Karel Abraham sustained an injury to his left foot while qualifying for the Catalan Grand Prix . He did not take part in the race there and the three that followed. Hiroshi Aoyama replaced him in the race in Germany. At the Grand Prix of Indianapolis the Moto2 drove world champion of 2010 Toni Elías the race for him.
- Due to his injury, Karel Abraham is replaced at the Japanese Grand Prix by the Japanese Kousuke Akiyoshi , and at the Australian Grand Prix by the Australian Anthony West .

Stefan Bradl switched from the Forward Racing Team to the Aprilia Gresini Team halfway through the season.
His place at Forward took the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic until the Grand Prix of San Marino Claudio Corti
For the last five races of the season was Toni Elias brought into the team. - The QMMF Racing Team sacked Anthony West after the San Marino Grand Prix. They weren't happy with the results. He was replaced by Mika Kallio , who for his part had resigned because of disappointing results with the Italtrans Racing Team.
- The from San Marino native Alex De Angelis is bad fall during the fourth free practice session, as part of the Grand Prix of Japan. He suffered broken ribs , a bruised lung and a traumatic brain injury . Because of this injury, he was replaced at the Australian Grand Prix and the Malaysian Grand Prix by the Australian Damian Cudlin .
- At the season finale in Valencia De Angelis was replaced by the Australian Broc Parkes .
- At the end of the season, Héctor Barberá won the Open classification ahead of Loris Baz by five points.

From start to finish nothing changed in the first three positions. Only in the penultimate lap did Pedrosa attack second-placed Márquez. But this countered directly again. Rossi had moved up to 15th place after the first lap. His race to catch up finally ended in fourth place. The three leaders were already more than ten seconds ahead. With his win, Lorenzo became MotoGP World Champion for the third time.
