Fabio Di Giannantonio (born October 10, 1998 in Rome ) is an Italian motorcycle racer . He has been competing in the Moto3 class of the motorcycle world championship since 2015 .

Career

Early years

Fabio Di Giannantonio was European Champion in the Minimoto junior class in 2009 . In 2010 he won the Trofeo Honda HIRP 100 cm³ , in 2012 he was Italian champion in the 250 cm³ PreGP category . In 2014 and 2015 Di Giannantonio competed in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup . In 2015 he was runner-up there behind Bo Bendsneyder and also secured second place in the Moto3 category of the Italian championship with two wins behind Marco Bezzecchi .

Moto3 class

Di Giannantonio gave in 2015 as a replacement rider for the injured Andrea Locatelli at the Grand Prix of Valencia in the Gresini Racing team of Fausto Gresini his debut in the motorcycle world championship .

In 2016 he is a fixed starter at Gresini together with Enea Bastianini and he achieved his first podium in second place behind Brad Binder at the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello . In 2018 he won the first two races of his career in the Czech Republic and Thailand and was runner-up in the world championship 42 points behind Jorge Martín .
