Marco Bezzecchi (born November 12, 1998 in Rimini ) is an Italian motorcycle racer . He won the Italian Moto3 championship in 2015 .
Career
Marco Bezzecchi started in 2011 in the Europeo Minimoto Open 40 , which was part of the Italian Motorbike Road Championship (CIV), and finished the season in second place. The following year he moved to the Europeo Minimoto Open 50 and won the championship. In 2013 he drove in the Italian PreGP 125 and finished sixth in the annual ranking.
For the 2014 season, Bezzecchi switched to the Moto3 class of the CIV and was runner- up behind Manuel Pagliani . A year later he achieved his greatest success to date, winning the Moto3 championship on a Mahindra MGP3O . At the same time he started in two Moto3 races of the motorcycle world championship .
In 2017 Bezzecchi contested a full season in the Moto3 World Championship and finished it in 23rd place. In 2018 , he was third in the championship on a KTM of the German team Redox Prüstel GP with victories in Argentina , Austria and Japan .
In the 2019 season , Bezzecchi started for the Red Bull KTM Tech 3 team in the Moto2 class of the World Championship and was 23rd in the World Championship with 17 points. For the 2020 season he switched to the VR46 team. At the Styrian Grand Prix , the Italian achieved his first Moto2 victory on the 25th attempt. After six races, Bezzecchi is in fifth place overall.
