FTR Moto Ltd. is a British manufacturer of motorcycle parts for racing .

FTR Moto is an acronym for Fabrication Techniques Racing Motorcycles .

history

The company was founded in 1994 as Fabrication Techniques (FT) by Steve Bones. In 1995 they supported Kenny Roberts sr. and Tom Walkinshaw developing the chassis of the Modenas KR3 (later Proton KR3 ), which was used between 1997 and 2000 in the 500 cc class of the motorcycle world championship . In the period that followed, various teams in the motorcycle and superbike world championships were supplied . In 2001 FT was involved in the development of the Petronas FP1 chassis .

The FTR Moto brand as a manufacturer of chassis for motorcycle racing was established in 2009. This year the company designed a chassis for the Moto2 class of the Motorcycle World Championship, which was newly launched for the 2010 season . The Czech Karel Abraham won the first victory for FRT in the Moto2 class on November 7, 2010 at the Valencia Grand Prix at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia .

For the 2012 season , FTR entered the newly created Moto3 category and the premier class of the World Cup - the MotoGP class. At the 2012 Qatar Grand Prix , the Spaniard Maverick Viñales achieved the manufacturer's first Moto3 victory on an FTR chassis with a Honda engine. In the MotoGP class, FTR supplied the Italian private team of Fausto Gresini (with a Honda engine) and the Avintia Racing team , which used Kawasaki units in its BQR , with chassis.

In 2012 FTR Moto was sold to the Heads of the Valleys Development Company .

In the 2013 season , various claiming rule teams used the FTR Moto MGP13 in the MotoGP class. Colin Edwards , Hiroshi Aoyama , Héctor Barberá and Claudio Corti started with Kawasaki engines, Bryan Staring and Álvaro Bautista rely on Honda units.

In 2014 , 2015 and 2016 , FTR was only represented in the Moto3 class of the world championship without being able to achieve any notable successes.
