Tatsuki Suzuki (鈴木 竜 生, Suzuki Tatsuki, born September 24, 1997 in Chiba ) is a Japanese motorcycle racer .

Career

Suzuki made his debut in the 2015 Motorcycle World Championship in the Moto3 class in the CIP team on a Mahindra . His teammate was the Australian Remy Gardner . He achieved his best result of the season and his first point placement at the Grand Prix of Great Britain at Silverstone with tenth place. Suzuki stayed with the team in 2016 . He achieved seven points, the best of which was eleventh place at the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring . He finished the season 27th overall.

For the 2017 season, Suzuki switched to the new SIC58 team led by Paolo Simoncelli, Marco Simoncelli's father , where he started on a Honda . He finished the season in 14th place with 71 points and left his teammate Tony Arbolino , who only collected two points, well behind. In 2018, Suzuki remained in the team and came in 14th again with 71 points. His new team-mate, the veteran Niccolò Antonelli collected the same number of points. Both had the same number of fourth and fifth places, but since Suzuki was sixth twice, he was ranked ahead of his team-mate.

In 2019 , Suzuki took his first podium finish in second behind Antonelli at the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez and won his first World Championship round at the San Marino Grand Prix in Misano . He finished eighth at the end of the season, but one place behind Antonelli.

Also in 2020 Suzuki and Antonelli remain on the same team. The Japanese took pole position in the first three races . In the third race, the Grand Prix of Andalusia , Suzuki took his second Moto3 victory. After three races he is runner-up overall.

Trivia
