Termas de Río Hondo is the capital of the Río Hondo department in the province of Santiago del Estero in northwest Argentina . It is located on the banks of the Río Dulce , 65 kilometers from the provincial capital Santiago del Estero and is connected to it via the Ruta Nacional 9 . In the classification of the municipalities of the province, it is classified as a municipality of the 1st category.

history

Termas Río Hondo were declared a city on September 6, 1954. In 1958 she elected her first mayor, Luis Jorge Manzur .
