The 1962 motorcycle world championship season was the 14th in the history of the FIM - motorcycle road world championship .

Were in the 500 cc class eight cm³ in the class to 350 as well as in the trailer combinations discharged six, in the classes to 250 cc and 50 cc, and ten in the class to 125 cm³ eleven races.

  • The number of rated runs was calculated with an even number of races held by halving this number and then adding one. In six races, four went into the championship ranking.
  • If an odd number of races was held, the number of runs was added by one and then halved. In seven races, four were therefore counted.
