Alan Shepherd (born September 28, 1935 - July 16, 2007 ) was a British motorcycle racer .

Alan Shepherd was an internationally recognized motorcycle racer during his active career from 1957 to 1964. From 1961 to 1964 he took part in world championship races as an MZ factory driver , although he mostly had to do without factory support in western countries. The GDR citizens of the MZ-Werksmannschaft did not receive any entry visas into the NATO countries during these years . The greatest successes for Alan Shepherd have been two Grand Prix victories:

When he lived in Grange-over-Sands in 1964 , he was allowed to keep his two 125 cc and 250 cc MZ factory machines in England as a fee component in the fee contract with the MZ racing department in order to circumvent currency and exchange rate problems. In September 1964 he offered the two MZ racing machines for sale in the weekly British motorcycle magazine Motor Cycle .
