The USA Grand Prix for motorcycles is a motorcycle race that has been held since 1961 and was part of the motorcycle world championship for the first time in 1964 . It takes place at the Laguna Seca Raceway near Monterey .

history

It was initially held at Daytona International Speedway between 1961 and 1965 . In 1964 and 1965 , the race had World Championship status for the first time.

Between 1988 and 1991 as well as 1993 and 1994 the race for several displacement classes took place at the Laguna Seca Raceway .

From 2005 to 2013 , the motorcycle world championship took place in the USA again, but only one race was held in the MotoGP class, as the Grand Prix took place in the framework of the AMA Superbike Championship .
