Le Mans Grand Prix (motorcycle)

The Grand Prix of Le Mans ( Grand Prix de Vitesse du Mans ) for motorcycles was a motorcycle race to the Motorcycle World Championship .

It took place only once, on September 8, 1991 , as a replacement for the Brazilian Grand Prix in the classes up to 250  cm³ and up to 500 cm³ as well as for the sidecars at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans , France .

In the 250 cm³ class, the Italian Luca Cadalora secured his first world title on a Honda with third place . Previously, the race had been stopped on the third lap due to numerous crashes and restarted.

In the half-liter class, US Yamaha rider Wayne Rainey was also able to successfully defend the title he won last year in third place.

In the sidecar, Briton Steve Webster and his co-driver Gavin Simmons on LCR - Krauser were able to secure their fourth world title in third place.
