The Grand Prix of Hungary for motorcycles was motorcycle racing , the 1929 and interlocutory 1992 was held.
history
The forerunner of the Hungarian Grand Prix was the Hungarian TT , which was held from 1924 to 1931. The Grand Prix first took place in 1929. It was organized by the Budapest Sports Association and held on July 14, 1929 on a 2.75-kilometer route in the Budapest city forest (Városliget). After the 1931 edition, the races in the city forest were banned, so that the next Grand Prix in 1932 took place on a 5.275-kilometer circuit in Sopron on the Austrian border. The 1937 edition, which has not been passed down, also attracted the internationally successful works teams from the German manufacturers BMW and DKW .
The first Grand Prix after the Second World War took place on May 9, 1948 in Budaörs , a district of Budapest. Further events were held in May 1950 and August 1955. From 1957 to 1962 the Hungarian Grand Prix took place again in the Budapest city forest. In 1963 and 1964 it was also carried out at a different location.
In 1990 and 1992 the Hungarian Grand Prix was held again and was part of the motorcycle world championship . The hosted Hungaroring in Mogyoród , north-east of Budapest, on the since 1986 the Formula 1 guested.
Originally, the Hungarian Grand Prix was to be part of the motorcycle world championship calendar again from the 2009 season and was to be held on September 20, 2009 on the newly built Balatonring . The race was canceled in March 2009 due to financial difficulties, but was back on the racing calendar for the 2010 season and should take place on September 19, 2010. In March 2010 the Grand Prix was canceled again due to delays in the construction of the Balatonring. It was replaced by the Grand Prix of Aragon , which took place in Motorland Aragón in Spain .
