Horst Kassner

Horst Kassner (born May 12, 1937 in Schwabhausen ; † April 21, 2019 ) was a German motorcycle racer .

Career

Horst Kassner's first major success was fourth place in the 250 cm³ run for the 1954 Feldberg race on a 250 NSU - Sportmax behind Walter Reichert (NSU), Fritz Kläger (NSU) and Hubert Luttenberger ( Adler ). In the German Championship of the Year, he was fifth in the quarter liter class.

In 1957, 1959 and 1961 Kassner was German champion in the 250 cm³ class on NSU. In 1959 he was even able to become double champion, because he also won the 350 title with his Norton . His name appears twice in the Nürburgring winner lists : 1957 and 1961 and in Hockenheim he won in 1958, both on a 250cc NSU. Horst Kassner was particularly successful on the Masaryk-Ring in Brno , Czechoslovakia . Horst Kassner's son Bernd won the German championship title in 1992 on a 250 cm³ Aprilia .

Horst Kassner died on April 21, 2019 at the age of 81.
