Peter Öttl
Peter Öttl (born March 24, 1965 in Salzberg-Berchtesgaden ) is a former German motorcycle racer .
His son Philipp is also an active racing driver.
Career
The 1.69 meter tall and 57 kilograms of active time from Ainring originating Peter Öttl went from 1982 bis 1997 at more than 100 Grands Prix motorcycle world championship at the start. His motorsport career, which he began in motocross , was marked by numerous falls. Initially riding a Krauser in the 80 cm³ class as part of the motorcycle world championship , Öttl came fifth in the overall ranking in 1988 . In the following year he celebrated three Grand Prix victories and drove to the world championship course until the last race of the season. A fall at the Grand Prix of Czechoslovakia inHowever, Brno prevented the title win, so that he only finished third behind the Spaniard Manuel Herreros ( Derbi ) and the Swiss Stefan Dörflinger (Krauser). In 1990 Öttl switched to the 125 cc class. There the later Aprilia pilot (from 1993 ) , who started on a JJ Cobas (1990) and from 1991 to 1992 on a Bakker - Rotax , finished 14th overall in the 1992 season. In 1994 he was fifth in the World Cup. For Öttl there are a total of five Grand Prix victories in his career as a motorcyclist. He achieved two in the 125 cm³, three in the 80 cm³ class.
