Gustave Saintenoy

Gustave Saintenoy (also: Gustave Jeam Jacques Saintenoy ; born February 6, 1832 in Brussels , † January 17, 1892 in Schaerbeek ) was a Belgian architect .

Live and act

Gustav Saintenoy was trained as a student of Smachtens at the Royal Art Academy in Brussels. In 1852 he received the Architectural Composition Award. After the academy he entered the studio of Felix Janlet, the father of the Belgian architect Charles Emile Janlet (1839-1919), and met Henry Beyaert.

Gustave Saintenoy was married to Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar's daughter Adele since 1861 . Her son Paul Saintenoy also became a well-known architect.

style

His style was that of the Second Empire . In all of his works he harmonized the simplicity, the regularity and the symmetry of the forms with a penchant for decoration.
