Arsenius Butscher

Arsenius Butscher (born August 14, 1928 in Seibranz ; † March 11, 2013 ) was a German motorcycle racer .

Butscher learned the trade of a car mechanic . In 1953 he drove his first race in Stockach with a BMW-R-51/3 - team , which he finished as the winner. After numerous victories in 1954, he received the national racing license in 1955 and the international racing license in 1958.

From 1958 to 1971 Arsenius Butscher took part in the races of the sidecar class of the motorcycle world championship . In 1970 he and Josef Huber celebrated his first Grand Prix victory in a BMW at the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps . In 1971 they both won the Austrian Grand Prix on the Salzburgring . This year the duo was also runner-up behind Horst Owesle . He then ended his racing career.

Arsenius Butscher died on March 11, 2013 at the age of 84.
