Jan Bruins

Jan Bruins (born May 27, 1940 in Deventer , Netherlands , † April 16, 1997 ) was a Dutch motorcycle racer .

At the age of 16, he took over his late father's workshop on Zwolseweg. He later set up a motorcycle shop and workshop in the Gashavenstraat in Deventer.

In addition to his professional activity, Jan Bruins was a motorcycle racer. Initially successful in numerous national races in the Netherlands, he rose in 1970 to the world championship (50 cm³ class). His greatest success was winning the Yugoslavian Grand Prix in Opatija on Kreidler in 1972 . In the following years he drove a. a. for Jamathi . At the end of the 1975 season, he ended his World Cup career.

Jan Bruins died in April 1997 after a serious illness at the age of 56.
