The white-leaved bunt-deaf ( Russula variegatula ) is a fungus from the family of the deaf relatives (Russulaceae). It is characterized by a purple to olive-gray hat and white to whitish spore powder.

features

Macroscopic features

The hat is purple-violet to olive-gray in color, which reminds it of the parrot deafblings ( R. ionochlora ). It reaches a diameter of four to six centimeters. The stem is white. The spore powder is white to whitish.

Microscopic features

The spores measure 6.5-8 x 5.7-6.7 micrometers. The surface is covered with warts that are not or sometimes briefly connected. The warts grow up to 0.75 micrometers high. The hyphae of the cap skin are awl-shaped, 3.5 to 5 micrometers wide and have no bulging, enlarged basal sections. The cystids on the hat are cylindrical-club-shaped and six to ten, sometimes up to twelve micrometers wide.

Species delimitation

The parrot deafblings ( R. ionochlora ) in particular are similar , which, however, predominantly occur in beeches and have a slightly darker, creamy-white spore powder.

ecology

The white-leaved Bunt-Täubling can be found mainly under spruce but also under oak .
