The big mushrooms of Baden-Württemberg

Die Großpilze Baden-Württemberg is an important multi-volume reference work for mushrooms . The authors are German Josef Krieglsteiner , Andreas Gminder and Wulfard Winterhoff.

content

The objective was " to treat the approximately 2200 species from the mushroom class , which belong to the ' large mushrooms ', in four parts of 550 species each"; five volumes have actually been published. Since further species for Baden-Württemberg were added prior to the respective publications, the work includes around 3000 species of mushrooms. The hose mushrooms are not included in the row.

The structure is based on the taxonomic groups, which are often discussed briefly. If necessary, an identification key of the respective subordinate taxa is included. When describing the species, particular emphasis is placed on the ecology and the distribution of the fungi in the state of Baden-Württemberg . In addition to color photos of the mushrooms, distribution maps and micro drawings are also available.
