Motori Minarelli is an Italian engine manufacturer based in Calderara di Reno near Bologna .

history

The company was founded in 1951 as the motorcycle manufacturer FBM ( Fabbrica Bolognese Motori ) in Bologna and has only been producing two-stroke engines since 1956, as FB Minarelli . In 1967 it was renamed Motori Minarelli . In 2002 Minarelli was taken over by the Yamaha Corporation .

Motorcycling

The Spanish world champion Ángel Nieto drove a. a. for Minarelli and won the world championship motorcycle in 1979 and 1981 of each title in the 125 cc displacement class motorcycle world championship .
