Prince George Circuit
The Prince George Circuit is a 3.920 kilometer race track in East London , South Africa .
history
The course was opened in 1930 and was the venue for the Grand Prix of South Africa in the years 1934 and 1936 bis 1939 . After that there were no races because of the Second World War . In 1959 the course was modified and adapted to the Formula 1 requirements. The South African Grand Prix was held here three times in the 1960s. But the course was seen as too small for Formula 1 cars and the South African Grand Prix moved to Kyalami .
