The Circuito de Monsanto was a 5.440-kilometer motorsport racing circuit near Lisbon , Portugal . There was in 1959 the Grand Prix of Portugal held.
history
The circuit located in Parque Florestal de Monsanto was very difficult to drive. The course ran over many different road surfaces and even crossing tram rails was part of the route on which numerous races were held from 1954 to 1959, including a. the 1959 Portuguese Grand Prix, won by Stirling Moss from Britain . He won the race at dusk as it was started late in the day to avoid the intense sun during the day.
