The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve is a motorsport racing circuit in Portimão , Portugal .

The course was completed in October 2008 and has a length of 4.692 km. The official opening took place on November 2nd, 2008 as part of the last round of the 2008 Superbike World Championship .

The total cost of construction was estimated at 195 million euros . On about 300  hectares are large area, next to the main track, a kart -Bahn, a technology park , a sports complex, a five-star - hotel and apartments.

In 2010, in addition to the Superbike World Championship, the World Touring Car Championship , the FIA GT1 World Championship and several other racing series took place in Portimão . In addition, winter test drives for Formula 1 took place on the new route .

The course is part of various racing events. A Formula 1 race is to take place on this track for the first time in 2020 .
