Christian Sarron (born March 27, 1955 in Clermont-Ferrand , Puy-de-Dôme , France ) is a former French motorcycle racer .

Between 1976 and 1990 he contested a total of 148 races on Yamaha in the motorcycle world championship and won the title in the 250 cc class in 1984 .

Sarron made his debut in 1976 in the world championship in the class up to 250 cc. A year later, in the rain race at the Hockenheimring , he achieved his first victory. Only five years later and again in the rain, at the Finnish Grand Prix 1982 , did the second victory follow. The following year, 1983 , Sarron was able to take second place in the World Championship behind Carlos Lavado with another victory . In 1984 he finally achieved three victories of the season and the title.

For the following season, Sarron switched to the class up to 500 cm³. His only win in this class was in 1985 in the rain at Hockenheim. He finished third in the overall World Cup rankings as the best results in 1985 and 1989 .

In 1995 he retired from active racing and became team manager of the Yamaha Superbike team.
