Carlos Lavado (born May 25, 1956 in Caracas , Venezuela ) is a retired Venezuelan motorcycle racer .
He was world champion in 1983 and 1986 in the 250 cc class on a Yamaha . Lavado was known for his daring driving style, which not only brought him friends in the paddock .
In his 137 starts in the motorcycle world championship , Carlos Lavado achieved 19 victories , 42 podium places, 22 pole positions and 13 fastest race laps .
