2008 season>

The 2007 Superbike World Championship season was the 20th in the history of the FIM - Superbike World Championship . 25 races were held at 13 events.

Distribution of points

The world champion will be the driver or manufacturer who has accumulated the most points in the world championship by the end of the season. When distributing points, the placements are taken into account in the overall result of the respective race. The top fifteen drivers in each race receive points according to the following scheme:

Distribution of points
space 1 2 3 4th 5 6th 7th 8th 9 10 11 12 13 14th 15th
Points 25th 20th 16 13 11 10 9 8th 7th 6th 5 4th 3 2 1

All the results achieved were included in the evaluation.

useful information

  • All pilots competed on Pirelli uniform tires.
  • Yukio Kagayama was unable to take part in the race in Australia after a training crash.
  • The places eight and nine of the second run in Australia were subsequently swapped between Michel Fabrizio and Max Neukirchner . According to the timing, both had crossed the finish line at the same time. However, the transponder was on Neukirchner's machine behind the engine, on Fabrizios on the front. On the finish photo, the commissioners mistook Fabrizio for Lorenzo Lanzi and therefore did not notice the mistake. After checking the target photo again, the result was corrected by the FIM .
  • From the race in Donington , the Pedercini team fielded a second Ducati for the Italian Luca Morelli .
  • Team Sterilgarda registered a second motorcycle for the Italian Giovanni Bussei for the races in Donington and Valencia .
