• The US-American Doug Poland secured the world title for the second time after 1991 with Ducati .
• In nine races held in Europe, the European Superbike Championship was held at the same time . The drivers registered in the EM received, in addition to the World Championship points, also counters for the EM. European champion was the Spaniard Daniel Amatriaín on a Ducati ahead of Piergiorgio Bontempi and Christer Lindholm .
• The German Klaus Liegibel was killed on August 15, 1992 at the Volksfest race in St. Wendel .
