Fabrizio Pirovano (born February 1, 1960 in Biassono ; † June 12, 2016 ) was an Italian motorcycle racer .
Career
Early years
Fabrizio Pirovano started his racing career at the age of 13.
Superbike World Championship
Pirovano was one of the riders who competed in the first season of the newly created Superbike World Championship in 1988 . In the very first year he became vice world champion on a Yamaha with one win and two second places behind Fred Merkel . He was able to repeat this success in 1990 with five wins and five other podium places.
World Supersport Championship
In 1996 he switched to the supersport class. This year, still held as an open championship, it was champion at the end of the season. In 1998 , meanwhile the series had the official status of a world championship , he was with five wins and two further podiums, Supersport world champion on Suzuki .
