The 2011 Supersport World Championship season was the 13th in the history of the FIM - Supersport World Championship . Twelve races were held.

Distribution of points

The world champion will be the driver or manufacturer who has accumulated the most points in the world championship by the end of the season. When distributing points, the placements are taken into account in the overall result of the respective race. The top fifteen drivers in each race receive points according to the following scheme:

useful information

• All pilots competed on Pirelli uniform tires.
• The European race in Donington Park , which did not take place in 2010, and the relocation of the Spanish race from Valencia to Motorland Aragón were new to the racing calendar . At the event in Salt Lake City , USA, no supersport race was held this season, the race in Kyalami ( South Africa ) was deleted from the racing calendar without replacement.
