The Yamaha FZ 750 is a motorcycle model from the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha , which was the first series motorcycle in the world to be equipped with a five-valve engine.

The water-cooled four-cylinder engine, tilted forward by 45 degrees, has three intake and two exhaust valves per cylinder, which are operated by two overhead camshafts. According to Yamaha, the valve clearance must be checked every 42,000 km. Four 34 mm Mikuni carburettors take care of the mixture preparation. The performance with the powerful and high-torque engine was hardly exceeded by any competitor.

The load-bearing element of the chassis is a double tubular frame made of square steel tubing with bolted beams. The 16-inch front wheel with the dimension 120/80 is guided in a telescopic fork with 39 mm stanchions, the 18-inch rear wheel with the dimension 130/80 in a two-arm swing arm. The 1FN model was built until 1986, followed by the 2KK (“Genesis”) model with full fairing, which was replaced in 1989 by the 3KT type . The last model was delivered with a 17-inch front wheel (120/70).

"With an output of 100 hp and a top speed of over 230 km / h, the Yamaha FZ 750 was the measure of all things in the 80s."
