Tourer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A tourer is a motorcycle that is particularly suitable for long journeys . Tourers are usually lavishly disguised to effectively relieve the driver of the airstream. The classic sitting position is only slightly bent forward with the handlebars slightly raised. The knee angle is comfortable, around 80 to 90 degrees. The engine is designed more for pulling power (elasticity) than for maximum performance, so that a smooth, but not necessarily slow driving style is possible. The technology is usually low-maintenance, and cardan drives are often found in this motorcycle category .

Typical motorcycle models for this are:

At the end of the 1980s, the sport tourers were created , which are characterized by more powerful engines and chassis as well as a sportier sitting posture. The full fairing is usually designed more according to aerodynamic aspects and therefore not quite as expansive as on classic tourers.
