The Yamaha RD 80 MX motorcycle is a light motorcycle from the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha .

history

The RD 80 MX is based on the Mokick RD 50 MX . In 1980 it was in the then newly created class of light motorcycles (then class 1b, today A1), the first 80 cm³ street motorcycle from Yamaha in Germany. The enduro sister model with the same engine was the DT 80 MX.

The RD80 MX was available in white-blue, white-red, black, red and blue. From 1982 the RD 80 MX was replaced by the more powerful, water-cooled RD 80 LC. 16,373 vehicles of this type were registered in Germany.

The RD 80 MX is a light motorcycle with an air-cooled two-stroke engine. It has a disc brake at the front, a drum brake at the rear and 6 V electrical systems.
