The SR 125 is a light motorcycle from the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha Motor , which was built from 1996 to 2002. The designation "SR" stands for "Single Road". The total length is 2020 mm.

A cylinder, four-stroke engine and soft chopper look from the early 1980s were the features of the SR 125 presented in 1995. The 12 hp motorcycle, which had been sold abroad in this form since the early 1980s, was technically largely identical to the Yamaha SR 250 . It had an air-cooled, single-cylinder four-stroke engine with an overhead camshaft ( OHC ) and a five-speed gearbox. The chopper is lightweight and has a low seat height.

Electric starter, lockable fuel filler cap as well as main and side stands and a low cost price made the Yamaha SR 125 the ideal city and second vehicle, which was particularly popular with those returning to the sport.

Trivia

The engine of the SR was also the model TW 125 from Yamaha used.
