Yamaha DT 50 MX
The Yamaha DT 50 is an all-terrain moped from Yamaha . The two-wheeler came onto the market in 1986 because the legislature had increased the maximum speed for mokicks from 40 km / h to 50 km / h. To test the market, Yamaha released the DT 50 MX (1NN).
They used the current 80 cm³ MX (recognizable by the golden rims) and built a 49 cm³ engine with approx. 4 hp at 5750 rpm. The model was a market success. Yamaha exhausted the 50 plus 5 km / h tolerance. The number of chain sprocket teeth was entered in the vehicle documents so that every police officer could identify a chain tuning (front 10, rear 48). The carburetor came from Teikei , later from Mikuni . The 1NN is one of the rare DTs because it was sold until 1988, but only built for one year. Then a more economical version DT 50 R (3MN) with approx. 3 HP came on the market (silver rims), which no longer required the more expensive DT 80 MX parts.
